Annual Show at Canal Gallery. We do not have a date as yet. All of the people who put this on last year have commitments on Columbus Day weekend. We will announce the new date as soon as we know when this will take place. All members are eligible to enter. Fees are $30, including individual membership for the year. We hope to have the clothesline auction again, along with art demos and a reception with music. We will tell you more soon!

We are sponsoring a project to make Holyoke aware of its arts and local artists. Each of us will be asked to paint or decorate a wooden palette (or 2) to display locally in businesses or government buildings for a few months. At the end of the display, we will sell the palettes for a small fee and use the money for an activity (dinner or reception) for those who participated. Stay tuned!

We are looking forward to a very busy year. The board and other members have come through to share some interesting activities. There is always room for more action, if members will step forward to participate. We are always looking for volunteers. If you have new ideas or want to organize a project, this is the place to be.

Each meeting needs to have a host or hostess come about 20 minutes early to set up coffee, etc. We have someone for the following months:
October: Terry Mittrowski
January: Elizabeth Murphy
March: Marge Tauer

Other activites that members have requested, but we do not have chair-people for:

• Christmas (or Holiday) get together
• June meeting or picnic
• The possibility of advertising ourselves at the farmers market. Whoever did this could bring their own paintings and information and use our canopy.
• The possibility of participating at the Garden Party at Wistariahurst this spring. We’d bring easels and set up outside and paint.
• Spring art show for members
• Bus trip to museum or art colony to paint or learn

Just a reminder: we have a canopy you may rent for outdoor shows, 10 x 10. We want to extend an invitation to the membership to rent it for $25 per day, with a returnable deposit. This is a significant discount from formal rental stores, and we consider this a members benefit. Make reservations so you won’t be disappointed.

The image file format for digital pictures should be Jpeg at 72 dpi. Images should not include picture frame, wall or people. Email file to webmaster@holyokeartleague.org, with it include your name, phone number, email address and website address (if you have one). Or you may put the file on disc, bring it to a meeting or mail it to Jane Barrientos at:
